Professor Awa Marie Coll Seck

Former Minister of Health & Social Action of Senegal and President of Galien Association​

Professor Awa Marie Coll Seck is a globally recognized expert in infectious diseases and bacteriology-virology, with an extensive career spanning clinical medicine, public health leadership, and international policy. Holding both an MD and PhD, she has served twice as Minister of Health in Senegal (2001–2003 and 2012–2017), and was honored as the “Best Minister in the World” at the World Government Summit in Dubai in 2017. She also held senior roles at UNAIDS and led the Roll Back Malaria Partnership from 2004 to 2012, shaping global strategies to combat infectious diseases.

Beyond her ministerial roles, Prof. Coll Seck has contributed to global health governance through board memberships at GAVI – the Vaccine AllianceResolve to Save LivesGrand Challenges CanadaAFRIVAC, and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation’s Exemplars in Global Health. She has also served on advisory committees at Harvard UniversitySanofi’s Climate and Health Council, and several French health institutions. In 2024, she was appointed Menschel Senior Leadership Fellow at Harvard’s T.H. Chan School of Public Health.

Her contributions have earned her numerous international honors, including the WHO Director-General’s Award for Global Health in 2025, the Légion d’Honneur (France), and the Order of the Rising Sun (Japan). With over 150 scientific publications, Prof. Coll Seck continues to be a leading voice in shaping health policy, championing innovation, and advancing equitable healthcare across Africa and globally.

Mr. Genco Sanli

Managing Director of Sanli Pastore & Hill Ltd., Former Director at JPMorgan, AIG Financial Products, and Credit Suisse​

Mr. Genco Sanli is a seasoned expert in investment banking, corporate finance, and strategic transformation, with a career spanning over 36 years across Belgium, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Turkeye, Nigeria, and Mauritius. He has held senior leadership roles in globally recognized financial institutions including JP Morgan, Credit Suisse, Citibank, Commerzbank AG, Fortis Banque, and AIG Financial Products, where he led initiatives in structured finance, private banking, and institutional sales. His work has consistently focused on delivering high-impact financial solutions, driving organizational change, and advising on complex cross-border transactions.

As Managing Director of Deepleef International and Director at Sanli Pastore & Hill (Nigeria), Sanli continues to advise multinational corporations, private equity funds, and fintech startups on valuation, financial structuring, and strategic growth. His leadership has been instrumental in transforming businesses across sectors—from logistics and agriculture to manufacturing and technology—through roles such as CFO, board member, and senior advisor. Notably, he played a key role in a McKinsey-led transformation at Commerzbank and led the design of capital markets and asset finance strategies at Kobo360.

Educated in Political Science and International Relations at Université Libre de Bruxelles and holding a Master’s in Management from Boston University Brussels, Sanli is fluent in Turkish, English, and French, and is currently learning Yoruba.

Mr. Mossadeck Bally

Founder & Former CEO of the Azalaï Group​

Mr Mossadeck Bally is the founder and CEO of Azalaï Hotels Group, a leading West African hotel chain and a flagship example of African entrepreneurship in the hospitality sector. Born in Niamey, Niger, to Malian parents with a long-standing tradition in commerce, Bally pursued his education in France and the United States, earning a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of San Francisco. His journey into hospitality began in 1994 with the acquisition of the Grand Hôtel de Bamako, marking the start of a bold and visionary expansion.

Under his leadership, Azalaï Hotels has grown into a regional powerhouse with operations in Mali, Burkina Faso, Benin, Guinea-Bissau, Côte d’Ivoire, Mauritania, and Senegal, and with expansion plans underway in Guinea, Niger, and Cameroon. The group now employs over 1,000 people directly and supports more than 2,000 indirect jobs, with a strategic goal of establishing a presence in every ECOWAS country. Bally’s commitment to service excellence, infrastructure modernization, and disciplined management has earned Azalaï an international reputation for quality and reliability.

Through Azalaï, Bally promotes a confident and forward-looking image of African enterprise. His work not only demonstrates the viability of locally owned businesses in competitive sectors but also contributes meaningfully to regional economic development and job creation.

Mr. Frederik de Cock

Senior Strategy Advisor, Governance Expert & Former Vice President of Business Planning & International Relations at SITA

Frederik De Cock is a senior strategy advisor and governance expert with more than three decades of experience across the private sector, civil society, and international development. He has held senior executive positions in globally recognized organizations, including as Vice President of Business Planning and International Relations at SITA, and Managing Director at Equant and Scitor. He has also co-founded and led consulting and innovation ventures such as FdC Consultants and Stalwart SA, advising clients on corporate social responsibility, sustainability strategies, and stakeholder engagement.

From 2005 to 2015, he served as a Board Member of the Earth Focus Foundation, where he played a key role in strategy development, fundraising, and partnership building. His work reflects a consistent commitment to ethical leadership, systems thinking, and long-term impact.

In addition to his board and advisory roles, Mr. De Cock is actively involved in civil society. He is an Ecoutant with Association la Main Tendue, offering active listening and psychosocial support, and has facilitated ethical and theological dialogue as Moderator and Board Member of The Renaissance Forum and Animator at the Atelier Œcuménique de Théologie.

Mr. De Cock holds a degree in Law, complemented by additional training in theological studies and ethical leadership. He is based in Geneva and works fluently across multicultural and multilingual environments.

Mrs. Lorena Aguilar

Executive Director of the Kaschak Institute and Former Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs of Costa Rica

Lorena Aguilar is the Executive Director of the Kaschak Institute for Social Justice for Women and Girls. She is a global leader in human rights, gender equality, and sustainable development. With over 30 years of experience, she has shaped international policy through her work with UN agencies, governments, and civil society. She has served as Costa Rica’s Vice-Minister and Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs, and led the creation of influential gender networks such as the Global Gender and Climate Alliance (GGCA).

Her fieldwork spans 50+ countries across Latin America, Africa, Asia, and Eastern Europe. She has authored numerous publications and played a key role in integrating gender into global environmental frameworks, including those of UNEPUNISDRCBD, and UNCCD. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Anthropology from the University of Costa Rica and a Master’s degree in Anthropology from the University of Kansas.

Professor Santosh Mehrotra

Distinguished Development Economist, Former Senior Official at UNICEF, UNDP and India’s Planning Commission​

Professor Santosh Mehrotra is a distinguished development economist with over four decades of experience in academia, international organizations, and public policy. He holds a PhD in Economics from the University of Cambridge and an MA in Economics from the New School for Social Research, New York. He was a Professor of Economics at Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delh. He is a Visiting Professor at the Center for Development Studies of the University of Bath; and also Higher School of Economics, Moscow (research university).

Prof. Mehrotra has held senior research and policy roles at UNICEFUNDP, and the Planning Commission of India, where he contributed to the 11th and 12th Five Year Plans of India. He also served as Director General of the National Institute of Labour Economics Research and Development, in the rank of Secretary to the Government of India. He has advised over 40 governments across Asia, Africa, Latin America and the Middle East.

Professor Mehrotra has authored 14 books (mostly published by Cambridge or Oxford University Press)  focused on human development, poverty reduction, education and skill development, inclusive growth and employment, public finance and social policy, and strategies for countering extremism through development. His books have been translated into French, Spanish, and Hindi; and his research into Portuguese, Russian and German. His work includes titles such as Development with a Human Face; Eliminating Human PovertyUniversalizing Elementary Education in IndiaReviving Jobs: An Agenda for Growth, and India Out of Work.”
